So I may very well be cat free by the end of the week. Since the vet told me Khan was suffering from either kidney failure or cancer I've always said that when he starts peeing in weird places...it's time. I normally do the cat box on Monday night because Tuesday is trash day. I'm cleaning my office yesterday (where the cat box is in the closet), I realize the cat box hasn't been used AT ALL this week. Which begs the question, where exactly has the cat been doing his business since Monday? He did use it once today, but it may very well be time. I love the cat to bits, but I just can't do the not using the box thing.
The idea of losing both cats in less than a month sucks, but it is what it is. At least with Khan it's not so unexpected. I've known for some time that it would come about and I've had a bit of time to prepare. It still sucks, but there ya go.

I prepare myself for this day alot.
Talon is 16 years old.
Brat is 8 but has asthma and everytime we treat it we shorten his lifespan The vet is concerned about diabetes--and I am not going to put him through shots and kidney stress.
I am so sorry this is happening to you. Expecting it doesn't make it any easier..........
